Burning for You by  Kaye Kennedy

If you like alpha males with soft centers who love hard and make love harder, then the Burning for the Bravest Series is for you! Follow 8 firemen in New York City, as they risk their lives and their hearts, in the name of love. While the story can standalone, this series is meant to be read in order, so make sure you start with Burning for More, which is FREE on Kindle Unlimited or get it on Amazon for only 99¢.

Burning for You - Book 5 in the Burning for the Bravest Series

Sometimes, first love is better the second time around.

Kyle

I was four when I met Allie Dupree.

Ten when I stopped thinking she had cooties.

Fourteen when I realized I was in love with her.

And eighteen when I finally told her.

Then I never saw her again. I also never forgot her. And my heart never let her go.

Sixteen years after she’d disappeared without a word, she's back and there's no way in hell I'm letting her get away again. Especially because there are still burning embers of what we had. And, at the very least, I think I deserve some answers.

Allie

Returning to New York had never been a part of my plan. But having to watch my ex-husband move on with his pregnant fiancée before the ink had even dried on our divorce papers had made staying in Michigan impossible.

The odds of running into Kyle Hogan in Manhattan were one in three-million. But sure enough, my first month back, I came face-to-face with the one person I’d never wanted to see again.

What had happened sixteen years ago had ruined my life, and Kyle can never find out that secret. I won't let it destroy him, too.

Will their old flame be enough or will it come back to burn them? Again.

One Night Pact  by J.S. Cooper

https://amzn.to/3i3NSLV

From New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author J.S. Cooper comes the first book in a series featuring the Huntington brothers. Cooper's novel, Rhett, is one of my favorite friends to lovers book of all time, so I'm eagerly anticipating this new release.

“One night. No strings attached. We do the kinkiest things we can think of and we never talk about them again.”

What do you say when your half naked best friend approaches you with the craziest suggestion you've ever heard in your life? You certainly don’t entertain the idea. And you certainly don’t come up with a list of do’s and don’ts for the night that is never going to happen.

My best friend, Harry Parker Huntington, wants us to make a one night pact. He’s a playboy, hellbent on never settling down and I’m a tomboy ready to change my image. All of our lives, he’s been able to convince me to join in on disastrous schemes and plans that always seem to blow up in my face. But he says this one is foolproof.

We’ll be at his parents house for Christmas and as Harry says, “what happens at my parents house stays at my parents house.” I’m not sure it’s the best idea he’s ever had, but he always did have a way of making me say yes, to just about everything.

The Fae King's Curse by Jamie Schlosser

The Fae King's Curse is the first in a series by Jamie Schlosser. Typically, I don't read paranormal or fantasy, but I think Jamie's background as a contemporary author has made this novel perfect for me. Easily one of my favorite books of 2020.

Kirian and I were just twelve years old when I pulled him from the icy waters of the creek behind my house. As he looked in my direction with unseeing lavender eyes, I quickly realized our age was just about the only thing we had in common. He spoke with an accent, he had pointy ears, and he was so beautiful it made my heart ache. Oh, and he claimed to be a fae prince cursed by witches who stole his sight.

I thought he was crazy from hypothermia. Turns out, he wasn’t, and for some reason he keeps coming back. But a day in my world is a year in his. Every time I see him, he’s older. Wiser. Hotter.

Over the past six years, I’ve tried not to fall in love with him because the terms of the curse are clear: If he doesn’t wait for his fated mate in all ways, including an innocent (or not-so-innocent) kiss, he’ll be blind forever.

So when Kirian kisses me and pulls me through the portal to his realm, I make it my mission to do some damage control. It’d be a whole lot easier if he wasn’t determined to marry me... And if someone wasn’t trying to murder me every step of the way.

Breakaway by Heather M. Orgeron

Breakway is a standalone by USA Today bestselling author Heather M. Orgeron about best friends with bad timing.

I fell in love with my best friend but he didn't love me back.

Sounds like a cheesy line from a country song, right? Too bad it's the story of my life.

I thought that I’d moved on, swore he was the one.

But that facade began to fade in the flash of a half-carat diamond ring.

Now years later, here I am, running back to the boy who broke my adolescent heart, hoping that just maybe, he’ll be the one to piece it back together.

....

I fell in love with my best friend while she fell in love with him.

Ironically, it was my own damn fault. I practically served her up on a silver platter.

So I turned to my second love, basketball, moving across the country to escape.

For years, I’ve been sitting on the sidelines watching, waiting.

Now it's time to make my move.

No more fouling out.

This time, I'm going to score.

Kissing & Telling by J.L. Beck & C. Hallman

This standalone new release from duo J.L. Beck & C. Hallman kicks off their Breaking the Rules Series. Since my tagline is Romance Reads that Kiss & Tell, how could I not include this friends to lovers story?

Everyone knows the rules of friendship, right?

Rule #1: Don’t kiss your best friend.

Rule #2: Don’t have sex with your best friend.

Rule #3: Don’t pretend like it didn’t happen the next day.

Bailey Renshaw is my best friend. Kind. Sweet as a peach, and so beautiful it should be a crime.

Since we were kids I’ve wanted her, and one time when we were nothing more than teenagers I kissed her. It was the first mistake I ever made in our friendship. Giving her my heart and hoping she felt the same were my second and third.

That night she broke me, ripped my heart out of my chest and stomped on it. Anyone else would’ve hated her for it, but it only made me value her more, and realize that I would do anything I could to keep her in my life even if it was only as a friend and nothing more.

As a permanent resident of the friend zone, I promised myself that I would never cross that line again no matter how badly I wanted to, and I wanted to, badly.

Every time she smiled at me, licked her pink lips, or flashed her doe eyes my way I came a little closer to breaking the rules again… but I didn’t. I couldn’t do that to us. Until one night when we decided to break the rules together.

One Earth shattering night together and I knew nothing would ever be the same.

Friends, or lovers? I don’t know what we are anymore. The rules no longer apply to us.

Now the only question is, can we fix what we had before it’s too late or is our friendship over for good? And all because of one single kiss?

I went up to New York and Connecticut for a writing retreat and to visit family. While there, I finalized Flirting with Fame . My rescue mutt, Zeus, road tripped it with me and he got to see snow for the first time. He was super apprehensive at first, but then he got the zoomies in full force. One of the highlights was getting to spend time with my best friend, who I hadn't seen in far too long.

When I first started writing romance, I was intimidated by the idea of penning steamy sex scenes. I *almost* decided to be a fade-to-black author 😲 but I knew that the stories I wanted to write needed sex. Despite being terrified by the idea, I put my fingers to the keyboard and pushed myself to get the words out. Best. Decision. Ever. Here's why: I was raised in a conservative family. The only "sex talk" I got from my mother happened when I started dating my first boyfriend. All she said was, "Don't kiss him with your mouth open." Yeah...it was too late for that because he'd already kissed me. And my mouth was open. And I hadn't been struck down on the spot because of it... So, how did that translate as I got older? I was ashamed of my sexual side. That isn't to say that I wasn't sexually active, but I never talked about it with anyone. Sometimes, that even included my partner; I wouldn't communicate what I liked/disliked/wanted to try/etc... Not exactly healthy. I'd been labeled as a "little bit of a prude" by more than one person, which I knew was not who I authentically was (I am a Scorpio after all 😉), but the shame had kept me from arguing.
